Onkel Creepys anusskala for negativtrolling av film

" Meh og (***) tre små anuser. Go away Rob!! ...go away!" (Onkel Creepy) Hm? At det var?  Anus-skalaen har manifestert seg som gjeldende på Skrekkruttskolen.   Hva er greia, lurer kanskje noen? Hva snakker vi om?    Onkel Creepy gir her en enkel innføring med utgangspunkt i filmen Lords of Salem.  "Jeg tar alltid utgangspunkt i ene enden av skalaen når jeg setter på en film.... om jeg har gode forhåpninger så begynner jeg med Meh+ og (**********) ti små anuser og trekker bort et anus for hver gang jeg ruller øya eller sukker tungt.  Når de ti har gått ned så får vi Meh....og ti små anuser....når de har blitt redusert ned til en så begynner vi på Meh- og ti små anuser. Om jeg går inn for å mislike filmen fra utgangspunktet av så begynner jeg med Meh- og ( * ) en anus og legger til litt ettersom de har noe + å komme med, tekniske ting som funker, positive overraskelser etc..... Men om en skuffer eller overrasker STORT er det fullt mulig å få masse anuser / an...

Isolasjon i horror og sci-fi

  Skrekkruttskolens Isolation Week(end) satt i grunnen som ei kule!   Det som begynte som en temahelg med fokus på isolerte steder og isolerte mennesker utartet til å bli et ukeslangt dypdykk i isolasjon innen horror, scifi og absurd film.    (Og thriller, må vi nok føye til denne gangen. Yūrei: pray you never encounter one!

Dear reader: a violent storm is approaching Scandinavia. Red alerts of all sorts have been issued, and the populus is busy removing loose objects, filling up their water tanks and checking if they have enough batteries to last. Later tonight, when all Hell breaks loose , they will huddle together, step away from the windows, brace themselves and excert a nordic form of calm born through experience with hellish weather. But i digress. Now, let me take this occasion, to tell you about the nightgown - wearing ghost. Her face is covered by her long black hair. She is the one that comes crawling down the stairs and out of closets in you nightmares.  The ghost that make this throat gurgling "moaaaaaaaaaaaaa" - sound that makes your skin crawl. Scary movies for kids!

When I was a kid, i loooved horror movies. Not horror movies for kids, no no no: the hardcore stuff. Movies children ought not watch. Movies that made me run up stairs like I was being chased by the Devil himself.  I sometimes still do. And I'm 49 now. You see, my dad worked as a captain on ships that sailed in international waters when I was a kid. Norway has their own international church for sailors and other Norwegians residing abroad, The Norwegian Sailor's Church. These guys among many services supplied norwegian ships with books and films. Every ship had a little library trolley full of books and VHS's. At the same time, the HSE factor was quite low: sailors were allowed to bring their kids aboard their ships for summer holiday. Queer roles in horror

At the Horror Rookie Academy , a very interesting exchange of opinions emerged in the spring of 2022 on the topic of queer roles in horror . In the following, I will explain why I think it is both okay and important to lift queer roles in horror films. The text represents the author's opinion. In the wake of a really interesting analysis done by Dread Central (a must-read!), it was suggested that queer roles may take the focus away from the horror in horror films. This got me thinking. Thinking real good. Could it be that queer roles, roles protraying people like me,  among the majority may be perceived as unnecessary to the plot in horror films?  As something forced? PPH: om Post Production Hell

Det ringer inn til det som mye mulig er siste time i Back to school weekend. Tema: POST PRODUCTION HELL!  Dette er et uttrykk som filmgeeks gjerne slenger om seg med; her går tante Grusom i dybden og forklarer litt nærmere hva dette innebærer.  Post production hell -eller Development hell / Development limbo- er et begrep som brukes om filmer og spill som "fanges" i etterproduksjon. Disse prosjektene kan bli forsinket med mange herrens år - eller de ender opp med aldri å komme ut. "Independence Day 2" var et eksempel på en film som holdes i postprod limbo; der befant den seg siden 1997 og fram til utgivelse i 2018. World War Z er nok en annen film som har vært en snartur innom postprod hell for en kjapp skjending og refokusering.  Urk!  Hvordan ender så enkelte filmer opp i denne tilstanden? Årsakene kan være mange:   1. Skaperen av åndsverket har solgt rettighetene til et studio med sine regissører og produsenter; infrastrukturelle endringer i filmverdene...
