Yūrei: pray you never encounter one!

Dear reader: a violent storm is approaching Scandinavia. Red alerts of all sorts have been issued, and the populus is busy removing loose objects, filling up their water tanks and checking if they have enough batteries to last. Let's begin with the beginning: what in the world is "liminal" - and "liminal horror"? The word liminal itself is defined quite differently by different sources, but the essence is as follows: - a state/position at or on both sides of a threshold/border - a transition between states or the initial phase of a process of change As far as I understand, Liminal horror points to both this and at the same time to what is called liminal spaces , which are: - areas and architecture that lead you from something to something else, and which are not intended as anything more/other. Iä! Iä! Lovecraftian horrors

  H. P. Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American author best known for his influential contributions to the genre of "weird fiction," especially cosmic horror. His work is characterized by a unique blend of science fiction, horror, and the supernatural, often exploring themes such as forbidden knowledge, humanity's insignificance in the universe, and the fragility of reason. Lovecraft created a mythos—a loosely connected universe populated by ancient, powerful beings such as Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, and Azathoth. This "Cthulhu mythos" became central to his legacy, and was later expanded upon by other writers. So, to the eternal question: what does this almost etherial term "Lovecraftian" actually mean? Ramaskreekend 2014

  `tis upon us...!  Ramaskrik -festivalen ruller i gang på Oppdal, og  Skrekkruttskolen  smeller  til med  DEN 2. ÅRLIGE Ramaskreekend!  Her skal vi prøve å gi litt festivalstemning gjennom helga: følge med på hva som rører seg blant lokale og tilreisende på Oppdal, se nærmere på filmene på  programmet  og forhåpentligvis få litt input fra skrekkrutter som måtte ha tatt turen til de dunkle Oppdalske fjelle for denne Norges skumleste filmfestival!  Håper dette kan være et lite plaster på kjøttsåret for alle de som skulle ønske de var der.   ...sa brura og dro i gang Ramaskreekend 2014.   I det følgende presenteres innlegg av ymist slag fra skrekkrutter som var tilstede, enten fysisk eller psykisk. :)   Kay Olssen, 16. oktober "Rapport fra Ramaskrik, denne gang filmen  Radio Silence  AKA On Air. Onkel Creepys anusskala for negativtrolling av film

" Meh og (***) tre små anuser. Go away Rob!! ...go away!" (Onkel Creepy) Hm? At det var?  Anus-skalaen har manifestert seg som gjeldende på Skrekkruttskolen.   Hva er greia, lurer kanskje noen? Hva snakker vi om?    Onkel Creepy gir her en enkel innføring med utgangspunkt i filmen Lords of Salem.  "Jeg tar alltid utgangspunkt i ene enden av skalaen når jeg setter på en film.... om jeg har gode forhåpninger så begynner jeg med Meh+ og (**********) ti små anuser og trekker bort et anus for hver gang jeg ruller øya eller sukker tungt.  Når de ti har gått ned så får vi Meh....og ti små anuser....når de har blitt redusert ned til en så begynner vi på Meh- og ti små anuser. Om jeg går inn for å mislike filmen fra utgangspunktet av så begynner jeg med Meh- og ( * ) en anus og legger til litt ettersom de har noe + å komme med, tekniske ting som funker, positive overraskelser etc..... Men om en skuffer eller overrasker STORT er det fullt mulig å få masse anuser / an...
